Last year TD Finishing opened up a new office based in Sheffield. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced design engineer to join our small but fast paced team.
Mechanical Design Engineer Vacancy
Based in our Sheffield office, close to the M1, with competitive salary, 25 days annual leave plus public holidays, company pension scheme and onsite parking.
TD Finishing Ltd – Sheffield Branch
The role we are looking for will predominantly involve design of ovens, pre-treatment and handling systems.
Duties:
- Work closely within Engineering to help develop bespoke design solutions for paint finishing systems.
- Comfortable with taking the general arrangement drawing (either produced by themselves or others) and completing a full set of manufacturing drawings for fabrication.
- Designing of fabricated sheet metal parts and assemblies
- Drawing layout of buildings.
- Occasional visits to site locations to collect data for drawings.
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors as required.
- Supporting customers with technical queries.
- Compiling and maintaining technical documentation.
Skills:
- A detailed knowledge of AutoCAD. Must be able to produce comprehensive, clear and accurate 2D manufacturing drawings and General Arrangements.
- A least five years’ experience in a 2D CAD environment.
- High level of problem-solving skills together with the strength of character to act on the technical decisions they make.
- Good IT skills with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent organisation & communication skills
- Keen to learn and work with the team
- Drivers Licence (required)
