TD Finishing: Company Timeline

Following the closure of their previous employer, Trevor Owen and Dale Harris established TD Finishing from an office in Stourbridge. The company was initially formed to complete several outstanding finishing system contracts already in progress.

Building on early success, TD Finishing continued to grow through smaller installation projects, plant servicing, maintenance support and the supply of replacement parts for existing finishing systems across the UK.

TD Finishing secured a major contract to design and deliver a complete online finishing facility for a subcontract sheet metal manufacturer based in Hampshire.

Following continued project success, TD Finishing delivered complete finishing systems for major manufacturers including Rimstock, Bisley Office Equipment, SAS International, Whitecroft Lighting and Cooper Lighting.

TD Finishing relocated operations to a new industrial unit at Amphion Court, Tipton, supporting continued growth across design, manufacturing and project delivery.

TD Finishing’s reputation expanded significantly, completing major UK and international projects for leading manufacturers including GKN Wheels, Worcester Bosch, Ideal Boilers, Brompton Bikes, Olympus, BOC and many other recognised industrial brands.

With the long-term future of the business in mind, TD Finishing began implementing a structured succession plan designed to protect the company’s industry knowledge, technical expertise and reputation for quality. The process focused on developing the next generation of leadership and engineering talent.

Dave Harris joined the business, bringing extensive experience in design engineering and project management. His appointment formed an important part of TD Finishing’s long-term growth and succession strategy.

Mike Shawcross joined the business, bringing extensive experience in design engineering and project management. His appointment formed an important part of TD Finishing’s long-term growth and succession strategy.

As part of the ongoing succession and expansion strategy, TD Finishing opened its Sheffield office, with the company’s design operations gradually transitioning to the new location.

TD Finishing expanded its team further with the addition of a dedicated spares and service specialist alongside additional design engineering support. During this period, the company also continued development of the dedicated service platform, tdfinishing.services.

Following the successful expansion and transition of operations to Sheffield, TD Finishing formally closed the Tipton office, marking the next stage in the company’s long-term evolution.
